Maybe I had to many things going on or I wast thinking about how I wanted to watch other shows that were on tv, but the first hour of the two hour premier of Terra Nova seemed to drag out.  I enjoyed the second hour more.

Terra Nova is a colony of people apparently all from the U.S due to the lack of different languages and accents spoken, who have won a “lottery” to leave a desolate earth.  The main family is the Shannon’s.  We follow them on their transition to a time in the past when the Earth was pure and filled with dinosaurs.  Jim Shannon (O’Mara) is the father who recently broke out of jail.  Why was he in jail.  Couples are only allowed two children and his family had three!  Jim’s wife and two other children are chosen to go to Terra Nova.  He packs up their youngest child, Zoe(Mansour), in a backpack and breaks through what looks like a stargate!

Background, background we see dinosaurs fluff, fluff, stupid teenagers drinking and dinosaur attack.  Then they introduce the sixers, who came on the 6th voyage with a hidden agenda.  The leader/ protector of Terra Nova is Nathaniel Taylor (Lang).  He doesn’t want to tell anyone back home because he doesn’t know who he can trust.  I like this guy!  We learn towards the end that he has a rouge son who knows the truth about what Terra Nova is really for.

I was left with a lot of questions.  The story seems interesting but if they speed up the pace with less focus on the Shannon family and more on the community and what is going on it can have Lost potential.  As we have learned from Jurassic Park, there is a reason there were not humans during the Triassic Period, but I will go along with this idea that we can have a colony in the middle of their time.  What are your thoughts?
