If ou are looking for a good time at the movie theater along with laughter, witty sayings and no pulling of punches… The Green Hornet is for you.
Britt Reid( Rogen) turns over a new leaf after his father’s death. He along with the world’s greatest coffee maker/ mechanic, Kato (Jay Chou), create alter-egos who fight crime by being the bad guy. Who is the head bad guy? Christoph Waltz, who plays Chudnofsky. I see longevity in his career as the bad guy. He wasn’t the only bad guy. Reid is not the brightest so it takes him a while to figure out that the DA Scanlon was also a villan and actually caused his father’s death. For some odd reason they casted Cameron Diaz as the hot female, that helps our heroes and causes friction. That is a whole different post as to what Sunshine and I think about that (here’s a hint: its not good).
The movie isn’t great but it is worth seeing in theaters. Sunshine and I unfortunately waisted our money 3-D ( it was the only option). So if you think it will be better it will not. I give this film 3/5 black beauties.
The only true waste in this movie came at the box office when we had to pay 3D prices for a 2D movie. Unfortunately our favorite theater only offered the 3D (or RealD) option and it was not worth it. The movie itself though was fun from about 5 minutes in the end. The first 5 minutes was kind of draggy with some back story attempting to explain the strained relationship between Britt and his dad. However, once Kato hits the scene its non-stop fun. Jay Chou has a good career ahead of him if he keeps performing like this. Cameron Diaz on the other hand needs to consider retirement, she was a huge waste of space in this movie. Overall, a very good time indeed, 3.5/5 black beauties.
