Let’s be clear from the start: this is not a show I will be blogging every week.  Despite enjoying the Pilot episode, I can already tell you this show will grate on my nerves after a while.  Here’s why: it is too predictable!  David E. Kelly might as well just rename his old shows and rerun them because you already know whats going to happen.  Of course Harry is going to be successful in her first ever criminal case, of course some young lawyer is going to quit his well paying corporate job and come work for you, and of course working that quirky abandoned shoe store is the best idea Harry has ever had.

Don’t get me wrong, it was cute, Kathy Bates is funny in that older woman saying inappropriate things and waving around a gun kind of way.  But knowing that things will alway work out in the end just takes out the reason to invest in this show.  Bottom line for this: check it out as a way to get you over that hump to the 11 o’clock news, but don’t expect anything ground breaking.

  1. Episode one of Harry’s Law bodes well for this series. You can’t lose with Kathy Bates, the star of the show. She is always interesting, as she brings a unique wit and intelligence to the screen. The issue of drug addiction was handled well in this episode, with points being made in favor of therapy over jail time, as it it both more effective, and less costly. I’m going to keep watching Harry’s Law.
