When the movie started it jumped right in to Roy (Cruise) doing spy stuff with a naive June (Diaz) as an innocent bystander.  Usually with films like this the opening sequence is why the spy has gone rogue.  It takes awhile for the audience to get why everyone is after Roy.  This film has cheezy action effects.  I remember one scene where we see Roy with an explosion backdrop.  I thought what an awesome poster, not what a great action sequence.  Of course there is romance, a geeky genius teenager who invents a sustainable energy source and two bad guys.

It was good to see Tom embrace his true self in a film.  Although his character wasn’t full on crazy he was just enough.  It was hard for me to watch Cameron Diaz play a character who was a little dense.  I enjoyed June a bit more towards the end when she started to take care of herself and Roy!  I give this movie 3/5 stars.
