If you saw either of the first two Toy Story movies then you know the basic premise of this one.  If you have seen the commericials or previews for the movies then you know the plot of Toy Story 3.  But what you didn’t get from any this knowledge is the heart warming story that is Toy Story 3.  Even the most cold hearted person would be moved by this movie….myself included!  Andy is going away to college, the toys have three futures ahead: trash, attic, or college.  Everyone knows that college is not going to be an option for everyone, Andy hasn’t played with them in years and referred to them as “junk”. Also, in the years since we last saw our toys, some have gone away.  Most heart breaking is the news that Bo Peep went to a new family.  So, as Andy prepares for college he sorts his toys.  Everyone goes in a trash bag except for Woody who goes tot he college box.  Our horror of Andy trashing his childhood toys passes quickly when we realize he is going to put them in the attic.  Things go awry when his mom sees the bag and thinks it is trash.  Our toys go to the curb, manage to escape, but don’t belive Woody when he tells them they weren’t meant to be trash.  They choose to get in the box of donations to the Sunnyside day care.  As we know from the commericals the day care is not as it seems.  Woody comes to the rescue, but things don’t end happily until we course through a very dark adventure for our toy friends.  The journey to escape the day care is not for the faint of heart or young children.  Everything ends in our usual happy ending, but that is wrapped up in a very sad ending too as we witness the end of Andy’s phase of life as a boy who needs toys.  A great movie, everything you would expect from Toy Story and Pixar.  A definate must see for anyone.  Five out of five stars.

***Also a bonus for me was a preview for the next Narnia movie, The Dawn Treader.  There wasn’t a whole lot to see but it was exciting to finally get a taste of what is to come in the next movie.  Everything in the preview was what I remember from the book so I’m excited so far.  And as a little bonus we got to see that Will Poulter will be taking on the role of Eustace.  If you have not seen the movie Son of Rambow I highly suggest you check it out to see Will Poulters turn as Lee Carter.  If he brings the same level of acting skill to The Dawn Treader we can count on a great performance.
