This movie is hilarious!  I don’t care what anyone says.  If you can handle crude humor then this is a definite must see.  If you love the 80’s this is the film for you.  The film follows three friends Adam (John Cusack), Nick Webber (Craig Robinson) and Lou (Rob Corddy) as they take a vacation to their old stomping ground in Kodak.  Jacob (Clark Duke) tags along because he is staying with his uncle Adam.  The guys have grown apart and with Lou’s suicide attempt they try to bond and rehash old memories.  After a drunken night and some illegal red bull knockoff, our main characters find themselves in 1986!  They try to do everything that they did in 1986, but of course that doesn’t work.  In the end everything goes back to “normal.”

Hilarious parts:

  • Ongoing story as to how Phil (Crispen Glover) lost his arm
  • Chevy Chase
  • The Great White Buffalo
  • How Jacob was conceived
  • Lougole

This film has great references to the Karate Kid, MJ and 1980’s style, which is coming back!  I give this film 4/5 stars in the crude humor genre.  It could have gotten a 5 but the fact that nothing bad happened after they changed the past and they left Lou behind went against everything I have learned from time travel films.  The fact that a hot tub is a time machine did not influence my decision at all.
