So I finally got to see the Chipmunks movie!  I thought it was super cute.  For a December release the movie theater was practically sold out!

The gang was back from the original movie with some additions, the Chipettes.  The premise of the movie is that the Chipmunks are going to have a normal life and attend school.  They face girls, an obsessed fan (the school principal Dr. Rubin, who is played by Wendie Malick) bullies and eagles.  With so much going on you would think Dave ( Jason Lee) would be there to help his boys out, but in the first scenes we leave Dave laying in a hospital in Europe.  So his cousin Toby, who is played byZachary Levi,  is left to “watch” over the Chipmunks.  The boys get into some pretty big fights, well Simon and Alvin get into a fight but try to come together for Theodore.

Ian, of course, is up to no good and has the fortune of finding the Chipettes.  I was so excited to see the girls in this film.  They learn the hard way why Alvin and his brothers do not work with Ian.  We get to a climatic song battle that doesn’t happen due to Alvin standing up his brothers.   In the end Alvin saves the day and the Chipmunks and Chipettes perform together.

Thanks to the vocal talent and actors this was a great family film.
